At our Special Needs Vacation Bible School, we strive to create an unforgettable adventure for all attendees, regardless of diagnosis or physical ability. We ensure a welcoming environment by providing a quiet room for those who may become overstimulated and buddies for attendees who need a little extra TLC.

Each year, we are honored to have the Kilgore Fire Department on campus, ready to assist in case of a medical emergency, ensuring everyone's safety.

Parents and guardians, we've got you covered too! If you're not comfortable leaving your camper, you have options. Join in the fun and accompany your attendee throughout the VBS, or stay nearby on the church campus. We offer a cozy hospitality area where you can relax with a book, some knitting, or anything you enjoy. Our hospitality team will serve a warm meal each evening, providing a perfect opportunity to connect with other parents and guardians.

Our event is open to individuals of all ages with special abilities (5 years and older), including adults. Come and be part of a community where everyone is celebrated and the adventure of following Jesus is shared by all!

Get ready to blast off into a galaxy of fun at First Christian Church Kilgore’s annual Special Needs Vacation Bible School—open to all children (ages 5 and up) and adults with special needs, July 7-9 from 6:00–8:00 PM!


This year’s theme is Shine!

Join us as we soar through the stars, learning how the light of Jesus is always shining—in the good times, the hard times, and everything in between. Through hands-on activities, out-of-this-world crafts, music, storytelling, and community connection, we’ll discover how Jesus’ light guides us and shines through us to light up the world around us.
